Volunteer Awards

We greatly appreciate the members who give of their time, energy and creativity to support the chapter and dressage in general.  Therefore, we created ways to recognize these efforts through 2 types of awards.

Annual awards for most hours volunteered in a year

There will be two awards given for the top volunteers:  $100 for first and $50 for second place.   The awards will be in the form of Dover Saddlery gift certificates which can be used for online and catalog purchases.

Hours will be tracked on a spreadsheet by our webmaster/editor and the current spreadsheet will be brought to every meeting.  We track one hour for every meeting attended and actual hours spent volunteering at any event held by a Delta Sierra member.  At Delta Sierra events, we will get the volunteer names and hours from the volunteer log.  If you volunteered at an event hosted by a Delta Sierra member, please email Monica Fay at mcboofay@aol.com with your hours.

$5 credit for use at participating events

With our awards, we also wanted to support our members riding activities and participation in events sponsored by Delta Sierra or Delta Sierra members.  We do this by giving out tickets for hours volunteered that can be applied against entry fees for participating events.
  1. Tickets will be given to members only as follows:  one ticket for meeting attendance and one ticket per hour of volunteer work.  You must attend a Delta Sierra meeting to get your tickets. Members should be sure that their names are written on the backs of the tickets.
  2. Volunteer work will include work at shows, clinics, fundraisers, etc.
  3. The tickets have no actual cash value but will represent $5 of credit.
  4. The tickets may be used to “purchase” rides or portions of rides at participating  shows or clinics. For example, a member would include five tickets ($25) along with an entry for a show.  The show manager would then send the tickets to Monica Fay, who would reimburse the show. Any number of tickets may also be submitted to the lottery for the CDS Adult Amateur Clinic.
  5. Tickets may be transferred to other Delta Sierra members and will not expire at the end of the calendar year.
